The Vietnam War, also known as the Second Indochina War, was an armed conflict between South Vietnam and its anti-communist allies and North Vietnam and its pro-communist allies. The North Vietnamese won and united with South Vietnam into one communist country. The war made Vietnam what it is today.

In Downfall parodies[]

“I got in a little hometown jam
And so they put a rifle in my hands
Sent me off to Vietnam
To go and kill the yellow man
I had a buddy at Khe Sahn
Fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a little girl in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms”
―Born in the U.S.A., by Bruce Springsteen

The Vietnam War is a rather uncommon subject for Downfall parodies, largely because the film is set in 1945, while the US involvement in the war started in 1965, 20 years later. However, on a few occasions, movies set during the Vietnam War have been used.

The film Apocalypse Now, a very surreal film about the insanity of war which used the Vietnam War as a backdrop, was used HitchcockJohn's parody Hitler Defeats The Justin Bieber Fans? in which Adolf Hitler hires Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore to destroy the headquarters of the United Bieber Fever Alliance. In this instance, the infamous "Ride of the Valkyries" scene was used, with the UBFA's headquarters being represented by the Viet Cong outpost. He later on used a segment of Apocalypse Now in his parody Günsche Meets Colonel Kurtz which had Otto Günsche finding Kurtz in Hitler's office.

Another Vietnam War movie, The Deer Hunter, was used by KakashiBallZ for one of his parodies, The Hitler Hunter. Again, another film, Full Metal Jacket, was used by collegefootballrulez for his parody Sgt. Hartman Phones Hitler. The film was used again by Meowjar for his United Nazi War series, and by Sonic7emerald for his 50-subscribers special YouTube poop in which Hartman becomes the drill instructor for Unterganger recruits.
