New on Hitler Parody Wiki
Hi.
Does anybody know some English-subbed parodies that could be described as part of Hitler Interviews series (except HRP and HxH who were mentioned)? Propably this could be a finish to nearly 3-months of correcting this article.
Thanks.
P.S.: Sorry for my bad English here, I was tired.
If you look at the right side rail, there's now a new module showing an index of some sort. This is Wikia's Wikia Activity Monitor score, calculated based on a wiki's viewership and engagement.
Some background regarding my decision: I started seeing this module in several other wikis. At first I thought HPW wouldn't be notable enough to even feature in the ranking, but a few days ago I decided to check the official page and searched for our wiki. Astonishingly, not only are we in the top 5000 wiki on which the score gets calculated, we're scoring above 70%! I think this is a good find that needs to be shared to you guys!
More information can be found by clicking on "FAQ" on the module. Let's see if we can reach the milestone of 80 points!
I wrote a script that filters news items by marker. Those interested in viewing a timeline of your favourite/hated awards/contests now has a tool to do so!
There are two modes: filter and highlight; filter removes stuff not matching items you selected. highlight, well, it simply highlights the matching items. Highlight is the default mode.
Item choices are the same as those for news markers.
I decided not to make this feature wiki-wide, so if you want to use/test it, please add the following to your personal javascript page:
importArticles({ type: "script", articles: [ "MediaWiki:NewsFilter.js" ] });
If you're not familiar with importArticles please read this help page first.
Note: the script is currently awaiting review, so it won't work until some time after this was posted.
Anonymous editing has been disabled by KurwaAntics due to the continued unhelpful edits that are always happening because of anons. Because of the nature of the edits, and the fact that they come from Turkey, it's been suspected that the anons are Süleyman Tekin Gürmen, a known troll in the community.
This is just an informative message for people wondering why anons are now banned from the wiki.
It's that time of the year again......and this time, it's better than ever!
As usual, the wordmark has been changed to fit the halloween theme. That's a lot of blood... Also, the background has been changed to a super dark Fuhrerbunker. The layer of static has returned too. The background sound effect is also there, hover over the wordmark to access the player and click "play". It's gonna loop endlessly until you click the stopmusic button at the top navigation bar.
Well by now you would've been thinking "hey isn't that almost the same thing as last year's halloween?" To answer your question....Nein! There's still more!
First off our Featured Content side bar on the main page has changed if you hadn't noticed already. This Halloween, we're looking back at the greatest spooky Hitler parodies with our special featurette Spooky Theater. Also, our Monthly Poll makes a brief return for our Halloween-themed poll.
And now comes the best part. From today onwards you may occasionally spot a few scary-ish beings lurking around in the wiki's background. If you have seen all of them, good! If you haven't seen them, their true identities will be revealed sometime around mid-October, so try and spot them before you get spoiled!
I hope you like this new Halloween theme on the wiki. I suppose you'll have the best Halloween of your life by the time it arrives...
If you haven't noticed, I've placed a button below the Contests Portal for the article space (not the menu at the corner). Clicking it will apply a custom layout I coded to mimic Know Your Meme's gallery view. This layout has been the original intent since I created the portal, and now I managed to make it work.
Tell me what you think! :)
It's that time of the year again! As customary, the HPW will undergo a few changes, some cosmetic and some functional:
- Wiki header changes
- Background changes. As with previous years it's the empty Fuhrerbunker hallway but this year extra attempts have been made to make it look bleaker and grainier. To top it off we've added a layer of static on top.
- A major makeover for our resident entity is in the works. We'll update this thread when it's ready.
So far the details have been worked out by me, mfaizsyahmi and Gokyr. I haven't had any input from other admins who might be interested. I'll keep you guys updated when more admin participates and decisions made.
If you have major problems arising from these customizations, do report by replying to this thread or messaging me. Last year some users have difficulty browsing because of the static. I hope there won't be similar problems this year.
Notice to admins: Do not edit the Theme Designer too frequently. Only the last 10 revisions are stored by wikia for a complete rollback. If we use up all of them, reverting the wiki to pre-October look would be a pain for me. So far I've made two edits, and I presume Gokyr has made at least two edits as well.
I know you guys would be saying "but we got a gazillion chats already! Why another one?" Well, I'd like this chat to be specifically for wiki-related stuff. In particular, a chatroom for admins and wiki contributors.
I believe using chats would increase productivity as opposed to the forums, which are slower. Well, that is the gist of it. I hope others would find it equally useful.
So here's a challenge to everyone - get the Skeletor Award! To get that requires 356 days of editing. It's a tall order, but not impossible. I wouldn't tolerate back-and-forth edits on a single page every day though. Instead, use the page randomizer to find small fixes to do on pages daily.
Now, who's up for the challenge? Don't you want to make Skeletor proud? :3
Hi there. I just added some new badges awardable for editing the Downfall Scenes pages. I think we need to give more emphasis on the Downfall side of the meme. I hope with these badges we can see these pages getting the info it deserves.
So start editing and have fun! (Troll and deceptive edits to bloat one's scores are not allowed, mind you ;) )
I hereby announce that my hand-written script, the YouTube Link Popups, is now on public beta.... and for the third time at that! :P
Now, you should be able to see a popup when you hover your pointer over a link to a YouTube video in the articles. That popup will show, among others, the video's thumbnail as well as a few vital information such as upload date, duration, views and ratings.
Here's a screenshot of the popup in action (the yt link itself is the one underlined):
As a heads-up: I pulled back the beta the last two times because I think the popup is messing up the Visual Editor. That's purely speculation though, as at that time the Visual Editor itself is fairly new, and new stuff are bound to come with problems. Still, if you find that the VE persistently go FUBAR around you from here onwards, and you suspect this script might have anything to do with it, please inform me by posting in this thread. Otherwise, you'll do wise to contact staff directly.
Other than that, if you have suggestions, feedbacks, comments, and problems regarding the popup, feel free to add a reply to this thread.
Have fun! :D
Secondly, you can now pin the chat in individual pages. This makes the chat stay visible even when the cursor leaves the chat area. Might be useful if there is an intense discussions going on, while you're also multitasking yourself.
Thirdly, you can create a personal list to links of, say, reaction faces that would be appended to the bottom of the chat. The idea is to be able to quickly respond to a post with an image of a reaction face. The list would be taken off this page: Special:MyPage/chatango (you need to have a Wikia account and be logged in). See mfaizsyahmi's example.
This change would bring about some changes, chiefly improved privacy and reduction of anons that would otherwise be visible in the chat, and might take some time getting used to for seasoned wiki visitors. Rest assured, it's all for the greater good.
If you have any feedbacks, suggestions or bug reports, reply to this thread.
Yes, the new Forum has finally been enabled!
To be quite frank, I just discovered that it has been available for wikis for almost a month. Some unforeseen difficulties on my part have been disrupting my usual habit of checking Community Central.
The best use of this new forum, as I see it, is for Featured Content suggestions. We would still need to work out whether to have a long thread, or a dedicated board with weekly suggestion threads for it.
Keep in mind that the new Forums would take getting used to (even to the admins) and in no way would supplant or challenge the firmly-established Downfall Parodies Forum. You're free to play around it, though boards may appear and disappear without warning as we admins have a play around it as well.
Rest assured, something fruitful will be born from the new Forums.
